The Aurora Legion Seniors continued on their remarkable run in the Class B Area 5 Tournament Monday night, sending top-seed O’Neill home by earning a 7-2 win. The victory put Aurora in the championship game set for Tuesday night at 5 p.m. against third-seed Central City.

2000: Aurora girls compete in state tourney

Willis General Contracting of Aurora finished 1-2 at the State Class C Softball Tournament this weekend in O’Neill. Play began Friday and continued through Sunday, with 47 games on three fields in the double-elimination tournament. The Aurora team finished in the top 12.

The South Shrine All-Star football team, which includes players from Aurora and Polk-Hordville, went through a dress rehearsal scrimmage Sunday in preparation for its game this Saturday in Lincoln against the North All-Stars.

AC Red wins two in final week of action
