Big Jiv ends career in finals

It’s been an emotional, successful and all-around roller coaster ride for Aaron Jividen’s senior wrestling season.
Those emotions came together at once Saturday night, competing in the Class B heavyweight finals of the state wrestling championships.
Jividen’s first loss of the season came in the final of his career, losing to Waverly’s Trevor Brown, a now repeat champion with a 3-1 decision.
Aurora coach Derek Keasling, showing a bit of emotion after watching all three of his finalists lose those matches over the span of an hour’s time, noted that Jividen laid it all on the line and gave Brown the toughest fight he’s had all season.
“That’s another great wrestler -- a returning state champ,” Keasling said of Brown. “That’s the closest match Brown has had all year and was the first time Aaron gave up a takedown this year. We wrestled a solid match and put ourselves in a position to win, it’s just tough to take down a returning state champ.”
