Steven Friesen

Steven M. Friesen, age 72, of Hampton, passed away at Westfield Quality Care in Aurora, on Friday, December 15, 2023.
A Graveside Service will be held for family and friends on Friday, December 22 at 1 p.m. at the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton. Rev. Ricardo Riqueza will officiate with inurnment to follow. No visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Hampton Public Schools Foundation for the purchase of the HLS Building for a Daycare Center. Steven Michael Friesen was born on September 9, 1951 in York, and was the son of Max and JoAnn (Price) Friesen. He passed away in Aurora, on December 15, 2023.
He grew up in Hampton and graduated from Hampton High School in 1969. He worked in the body shop at Geis Motors in York, then opened Steve’s Body Shop in Hampton, operating his own business until his retirement.
Steve was baptized in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church and confirmed in United Lutheran Church, both in Hampton. He attended the Grand Island Free Church in Grand Island. He loved music and enjoyed playing guitar and being a part of local bands. He enjoyed classic cars, especially his 1968 Corvette.
Steve was proceeded in death by his father; grandparents David and Anna Friesen and Robert and Dolly (Perry) Price; uncles Roy, Dick and Dale Price, Robert Hutsell, Max Northrop and Jerry Friesen, and aunts Norma Hutsell, Merna Price, Betty Price and Dolores Friesen.
He is survived by his mother, JoAnn Friesen of Aurora; sister Kathy (Doug) Larson of Johnson Lake; aunts Lois Northrop of Sutton and Doris Price of Aurora, CO; nieces and nephews, Matt (Brooke) Larson, Collins and Rowan of Lincoln and Kara (Chase) Taylor, Calvin and Ruby of Aurora, CO; many cousins and friends.
