The Village of Giltner kicks off summer its annual Giltner Daze celebration this weekend, and two new events including a team scavenger hunt and the Battle Bus Mobile Arcade. Starting off the Giltner Daze weekend will be a women’s 3-person 9-hole golf scramble on Friday at 12:30 p.m.

Phillips denies TIF financing for new housing units

Despite the fact that the Village of Phillips has come to be known around the region for its use of tax increment financing (TIF) to encourage housing development, the village board last week turned down a proposal to use TIF to build six rental units in the community over the next two years.
