Hamilton County will be looking to select a new county assessor next year after the Board of Commissioners accepted the resignation of long-time assessor Pat Sandberg on Monday.

The new executive director of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce is on the job and is making herself known around the community. The Chamber announced last week that Tamar Jimenez, a native of Israel and a U.S. Navy veteran, had been hired to lead the organization.

On the road throughout the week, independent trucking contractor Greg Klipp has been following his father’s footsteps in hauling for local farmers for several years now. Klipp’s father, LeRoy, started Klipp Trucking in 1995 when farmers began using semis to haul grain.
Love’s Travel Stops, which planted a flag in Aurora with a new facility at Aurora’s I-80 interchange back in 2003, is abuzz with truck activity on Saturday morning. Traffic studies have shown that an average of 25,472 vehicles pass by on the interstate every day of the year, which has been a motivating factor for businesses considering the Aurora interchange.
