At 9:12 p.m. on Thursday, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a plane crash near 5th and X roads in Hamilton County.Deputies from Hamilton and York counties responded to the crash site along with Henderson Fire Department and Aurora Ambulance.

A request to add middle school soccer as a school-sponsored extracurricular activity stirred emotional conversation Monday from a room full of parents, students and soccer advocates who left disappointed with the response they heard.
This entry in Sunday’s Booster Days Parade in Hampton won the prize for Best Theme with its America 250-themed costumes and decorations. The Village of Giltner kicks off summer its annual Giltner Daze celebration this weekend, and two new events including a team scavenger hunt and the Battle Bus Mobile Arcade. Starting off the Giltner Daze weekend will be a women’s 3-person 9-hole golf scramble on Friday at 12:30 p.m.

Phillips denies TIF financing for new housing units

Despite the fact that the Village of Phillips has come to be known around the region for its use of tax increment financing (TIF) to encourage housing development, the village board last week turned down a proposal to use TIF to build six rental units in the community over the next two years.

The Leadership Center’s board of directors announced this week that it will be ceasing operation of Espressions in downtown Aurora effective June 27.
Aurora resident Kim Eberly recently opened Balanced Vision on the courthouse square. The occupational therapy practice will focus mainly on providing vision therapy to children and adults.
