The year 2024 is here, but while 2023 is still fresh on our minds, this week's ANR again takes a look back at the stories that defined life in Aurora in the year past.

Aurora High School honored five seniors who graduated early as part of the Class of 2024. The graduates received their diplomas during a brief ceremony held on Dec. 20 at the high school. The list of early graduates included , Daniel Slocum and Genevieve Massing.

Two months to the day after Bob and Loveda Proctor were reported missing in January, the family received a call from law enforcement confirming the tragic news that their beloved parents/grandparents were found deceased on a rural road northeast of Kearney.

After a three-year pandemic pause, the Hamilton County Home & Garden Show will return in 2024.Back on the calendar for the second weekend in February, this once annual event will have a familiar look and feel, with one major change reflected in the schedule.

The original $21.4 million plan for renovations at Giltner Public School has been scaled back to $12.5 million in changes made by the Giltner School Board in consultation with its builder, banker and architects.
