The trust in Zoe Johnson’s right arm paid off last week. It took a minute to get hot, but once the Aurora bats caught fire the Lady Huskies blasted Centennial for nine runs in the fifth inning to pick up an 11-1 win in five innings at home Aug. 29.

Lightning struck Friday night in Grand Island, once in the third quarter on the ground with back-to-back plays that simultaneously shocked the home Viking crowd and thrilled Husky Nation, and several times a few minutes later in the sky, causing a 90-minute delay in the season opener.
Luckily, yellow flags littered the field during this Phillip Kreutz rush. The Hornet senior tallied 151 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Giltner’s 44-6 victory.
