For all purposes the 2020-2021 school year is over and in many cases students have already brought home their report cards. Hopefully most students received praises for their grades. Of course there was the report of one youngster who was chided for his low grades.

The Biden administration has started to take steps to fulfill their promise to dismantle the Second Amendment.

There’s a new sheriff in town, or soon will be, and local residents can rest easy knowing there is a smooth changing of the guard pending at the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
Kirk Handrup ended a 43-year career in law enforcement earlier this year, announcing his retirement.

Special return to Memorial Stadium

Even with temperatures sweltering above 80 degrees, goosebumps and shivers jolted my body when Nebraska coach Scott Frost said during the pregame Tunnel Walk video, “Welcome back to Memorial Stadium.”
It felt just like going back home after a long hiatus. Saturday, everything felt normal.

The late night, early morning shower that passed through Aurora this past week was again a reminder of the days when our young children would rap on our bedroom door wanting to sleep with us because the storms with the lightning and thunder scared them.

For the first time in years, Giltner’s Nancy Lockmon didn’t attend Monday’s Central Nebraska Track Championships while wearing a stopwatch around her neck.
She still left the event with some hardware.
