Aurora City Council members passed the fiscal year 2022-2023 total disbursements and transfer budget of $17.2 million last week, up from $16 million last year with a 5.06 percent tax asking request increase in what city administrator Rick Melcher explained as necessary for development projects. 

A crowd of approximately 30 people attended a joint public hearing Monday to address proposed tax increases at the city of Aurora, as well as Aurora and Hampton public schools.

Warmer weather has helped speed progress in the new Streeter Subdivision, where several foundations were poured this week on the east side of Cottage Park Drive.

Work crews monitor massive, high-tech boring equipment used to bore holes under the roadroad tracks just off No. 4 green at Poco Creek Golf Course. The hole will now be filled with pipe as part of the city’s South Interceptor Sewer expansion project.
