With the return to school quickly approaching July’s 4R School Board meeting held eventful decisions, a welcome to a new principal and superintendent and an update on what plans could look like in the face of the current coronavirus pandemic.

Bands back on the bricks

The band was back on the bricks in downtown Aurora Friday, kicking off a summer music series in the midst of a pandemic which organizers said changed but could not stop the popular summer celebration.

Pool attendance tops 700 in opening weekend

More than 700 people made their way to the Aurora Aquatic Center for a busy opening weekend, which was delayed several weeks by a global pandemic.

As temperatures and humidity levels soared, the Cole Park splash pad became a popular place to be during the past week. The splash pad’s many features are automatically activated from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. each day.

Ryder Keller announced this week that he has expanded his business interests by purchasing JIMCO, a major manufacturer of test equipment, test leads and replacement wiring parts for the automotive aftermarket.
