Insurance agents host first Easter egg hunt at Pioneer Trails recreation area

Hundreds of children stomped the fields of the Pioneer Recreation Trail Saturday to get Easter eggs of the first hunt sponsored by Shelter Insurance. Founders DJ Robertson and Eric Wright started the event with less than a month of preparations to put together a new Easter tradition in Aurora.
Firetrucks from throughout the state joined the funeral procession last week for Elwood Fire Chief Darren Krull, who lost his life in the line of duty April 7. Representatives from Aurora, Hampton, Giltner and Phillips fire departments made the trip west, joining a long processing from the church to the cemetery, or parking at intersections along the route.

Early Childhood event shares info on local resources

A first of its kind early childhood event drew more than 125 people to the fairgrounds Saturday, where organizers said the goal was to help provide information about all the local resources available to families with young children.
