The Giltner School Board approved a quote from Winfrey Plumbing regarding the high school gym locker rooms and tabled another quote from the company on the high school boys’ rest room on Jan. 11 while waiting for further information on the pricing of tiles and partitions. Supt.

High Plains Community Schools will see a raise in substitute pay for the 2022-23 school year, based on the school board’s vote during its regular meeting.  A year ago, HPC paid substitutes $60 for a half day and $120 for the full day.

Giltner school to pay any staff quarantined with COVID-19 virus

The Giltner School Board voted unanimously Monday to create a policy whereby all employees will receive full pay if they are required to quarantine by school directive because they have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to the virus and are showing symptoms. Supt.

Aurora teachers to get vaccine

A majority of teachers in Aurora have expressed interest in receiving a COVID vaccine, which is tentatively scheduled to be administered in early February. “We registered and submitted preliminary numbers and it looks as if we’re going to get the Moderna vaccine,” Supt. Jody Phillips announced.
