Steve Oswald, the son of Dale and Marian (Rath) Oswald was born August 13, 1948 in Aurora, and died in Aurora, Colorado on March 13, 2025, at the age of 76.
He graduated from Aurora High School in 1966. During his high school years, he especially enjoyed the music programs as he was part of the marching band, The Boys’trio, and the Boys’ Glee.
After graduation he moved to Colorado where he briefly attended college and met his soon-tobe wife Christine Ann Albright (born March 16, 1949) while working at Lakeside Mall where they both worked. At some point they moved to Wichita, Kansas where they married on June 27,1969. Two children were born to this union, Thad born, May 26, 1971 and Alesia, born June 18, 1974. While there he worked at a radio station in sales and a DJ and was also a part-time sheriff.
After time spent in Kansas the family then moved to Tampa, Florida where he worked for a company called Carriage Trade Dinner Club. Steve loved Florida spending most weekends at the beach with his family. He also loved the amusement park Busch Gardens having bought season passes.
After spending time in Florida the family moved to Texas. Time there was short lived, having moved to Aurora, Colorado in 1980. He got his first job there working for First Federal Bank. He remained in the financial industry for the remainder of his career having retired from Genworth Financial.
He was a long-term member of Fellowship Community Church. He switched to Parker Bible Church for some time where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School for the time he attended. He returned to Fellowship Community Church watching services online as getting around wasn’t quite as easy as it used to be.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dale and Marion, his wife, Christine who passed in 2020, his daughter, Alesia who passed in 2015.
He is survived by his son Thad (Michelle) Oswald of Brighton, Colorado; siblings, Randy (Annie) Oswald of Omaha, William (Ann) Oswald of Aurora, Rebecca Luke of Apple Valley, California, Philip (LeeAnn) Oswald of Sacramento, California, Sandra (James) Leake of Bradenton, Florida and Jay D. (Linda) Oswald of Aurora; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, many friends, and the greatest neighbors to ever walk this planet.
Steve will be missed greatly by his friends and family. He was a loving husband that took great care of Christine until her death. He was a wonderful Father and Thad’s best friend. He made many people happy with his kind nature and friendly smile. He will never be forgotten and always live on in our memories and hearts. “Love you Pops, we will see you again someday.”
