Stephanie Penner, 76, of Aurora passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Memorial Community Care.
Stephanie’s wishes were to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 12 at the United Methodist Church, 1104 A Street, Aurora. Rev. Mary Scott will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. Stephanie Lynn Penner, the daughter of Norman Victor and Margaret (Foster) Thompson was born at Chicago, Illinois on September 14, 1948 and passed away at Aurora, on March 6, 2025 at the age of 76.
She grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1966.
Steph married Michael Dennis Penner on February 5, 1966 at Aurora. They had two children, Traci and Sean. Steph worked as a buyer for IAMS at their Aurora Plant for many years. Mike passed away on October 19, 2022.
When Traci was a kid, the family went camping in the bus and jeeping in the river. This was every weekend activity in the summer. Then when Sean came along, they took up golfing. As they became empty nesters, riding the motorcycle was one of his and Stephs favorite things to do.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vic and Maggie Thompson; husband, Mike Penner; brothers, Norman Thompson and Michael Thompson; sister-in-law, Marty Penner and in-laws, Fritz and Gwen Penner.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Traci (Norman) Willey of Gibbon; son, Sean (Emily) Penner of Kearney; 3 grandsons, Benjamin Willey and his partner Jordan Hinton, Isaac Penner and Levi Penner. She is also survived by her sister, Dawn (Don) Haymart of Aurora; two sisters-in-law, Diane Thompson of Sutton and Mary Thompson of Alta Vista, KS; brother-in-law, Steve (Dee) Penner of North Platte, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
