Marilyn Jo Aringdale, age 67, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Memorial Community Care.
Marilyn’s wishes were to be cremated. A private family memorial service will be held in Gering.   No visitation.  Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Marilyn Jo Aringdale, the daughter of John and Mary (Shelly) Abbott was born on January 7, 1958 in Scottsbluff, and passed away in Aurora, on April 4, 2025 at the age of 67.
Marilyn grew up in Scottsbluff and Gering and attended Gering High School.  Marilyn went on to have three children: Jennifer, Amber and Brandon.
She was married to Les Aringdale on November 4, 1992 in Scottsbluff and in 1996 the family moved to Aurora.  
Marilyn loved cooking and feeding everyone that came over.  You either enjoyed a homecooked meal or a cup of coffee around her table.  Her specialty was Mexican food.  Her family will miss her delicious cooking.  Marilyn also enjoyed spending time with her family and dogs who were like children to her.  Sadie and BJ were her cherished puppies that stole her heart.

Marilyn also enjoyed gardening, cooking, tending to flowers, crafting, dancing, quilting, games and puzzles, drawing, coloring and most of all attending grandkids activities.  
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Abbott; sisters, Carolyn Abbott and Delona Weil; brother-in-law, Leroy Surgener and two nephews, Gunner Weil and Curtis Deines.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Les of Aurora; children, Jennifer (Troy) McDonald, Amber (Josh) Young and Brandon Payne; 6 grandchildren Abby (Dusty) Cornwell, Bradly (Hanna) McDonald, McKenzie, Emma and Kylee Young and Brayden Payne and 2 great-grandchildren, Walker and Collins Cornwell.   She is also survived by her four siblings, Janice (Leonard) Deines; Linda Surgener, Betty (Tim) Curtis and Rick (Kathy) Abbott; sisters-in-law, Lynn Ehmen and Luray (Larry) Neuwirth; many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
