Local murder suspect to face prelim March 21

Tuesday morning saw the Hamilton County Courthouse play host to its first murder case since 1989.  Escorted by law enforcement, suspect Jeffrey Adams entered the Hamilton County Court courtroom and was met by a full house.

KAAPA Ethanol Holdings, LLC (“KAAPA”) and Aurora Cooperative Elevator Company announced Thursday that the parties have closed on a joint venture, forming a new company to be known as KAAPA Partners Aurora, LLC.

Shirley (Grosshans) Barnell turns 95 on March 5, having been born in Stockham back in 1928. Her long life has been filled with many twists and a drive to participate and give back to her community.

Suspect arrested in Marquette homicide investigation

The Nebraska State Patrol, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and Hamilton County Attorney reported details Monday regarding the investigation of a homicide that occurred in Marquette over the weekend. The investigation began at approximately 12:45 p.m.

Finkey hired as new Giltner principal

Louisville Public School District school counselor Kurt Finkey is set to become Giltner Public School’s K-12 principal and activities director after the resignation of principal Christopher Pietrzak. Finkey stated that he was ready to accept the job and bring his years of experience to Giltner.

Giltner sisters-in-law give family feel to taxes

Two sister-in-law businesswomen are bringing a hometown feel to getting taxes done in Giltner.  Chris Florez and Mindy Jemison had 35 clients last year including three to four businesses for their new enterprise, Hometown Tax Pros & Bookkeeping, LLC.
