Dozens of classic cars, hot rods and pickups and even more car enthusiasts filled the streets of Hampton Friday night for the 23rd annual TDLC Cruise Night. Participants enjoyed the cars, the mild weather and a community supper.

Students at two local school districts will be learning something new when classes start next week—how to get along without their smart phones at school. Both Aurora and Giltner have banned cell phone use by students for the upcoming school year.

A changing of the guard occurred Thursday at a downtown business as Angie Wall purchased Honeysuckle Lane from long-time owner Bonnie Bamesberger.

Comfort station proposed at Poco Creek Golf Course

Fund-raising efforts have begun for a “comfort station” to be built at Poco Creek Golf Course in memory of Kyle Ediger.The former Hampton teacher and coach enjoyed golfing and was a member of the local course, where he participated in both the Monday and Thursday men’s leagues.

Small increases sought for sheriff, dispatch, jail budgets

Vehicle supply chain issues and the difficulty of filling some positions has led to budget savings for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office as well as other functions under the supervision of Sheriff Jeromy McCoy.
Six students were selected by the Edgerton to attend the launch of the GOES-U satellite at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Posing underneath the crawler, a vehcile used to move rockets to the launchpad, are from left: Edgerton educator Deb Miller, students Bridget Kavan of Broken Bow, Annika Spielberg of Minden, Joey Ballas of Aurora, Alex Taylor of Auburn, Ryan McCalsun of Broken Bow and Shawn Morris of Aurora.
