This 18-wheeler was one of the casualties of the brief blizzard that blew through Hamilton County last Wednesday. The northbound rig was spotted along Highway 14 about four miles north of Aurora early Thursday morning after the wind had died down and the skies had cleared. Numerous stalled and stuck vehicles were scattered along Highways 14 and 34 that morning and I-80 was closed for a period of time from Omaha to the Wyoming border.
Crews have been busy installing various utilities under 1st Street in Aurora for months. In mid-April, work will begin on a major reconstruction project which will shut the street down from Highway 34 to the railroad tracks.
