The Grain Weevil robot introduced last year by local inventors earned national acclaim this week as one of seven recipients of the 2021 Lemelson-Massachusetts Institute of Technology Student Prize.

The Giltner Class of 2021 will cross the stage and receive a diploma Sunday as the first of area graduation ceremonies.  Commencement exercises will begin at 2 p.m. in the east high school gym in Giltner. Supt. Nick Mumm announced there will be 15 graduating seniors in this year’s class.

The Hamilton County Board of Commissioners met Monday with a light agenda. First on the list for discussion was to consider the creation of a separate bank account for funds received by the county from the COVID American Rescue Plan.
The buildings and house in the background are 14th Street lots rezoned last week by the Aurora City Council. The Aurora Cooperative has announced preliminary plans to expand operations from across the street, where the service center is now located.

Aurora was announced Thursday as one of several recipients of a Rural Workforce Housing Fund grant. The $1M grant, doubled by local matching funds, will create a $2M revolving loan fund to help provide housing infrastructure. For details and reaction see next week's ANR.
