Judge rules on Adams murder case motions

District Judge Christina Marroquin ruled in December on several defense motions arising from an October motions hearing in the Jeffery Adams murder case. Adams is set to stand trial this summer for the death of his wife Angela in their Marquette home on Feb. 26 of last year.

A double-barreled blast of winter weather hit Hamilton County last week shuttering schools and businesses, canceling events, snarling travel and causing an eight-day workweek for state and county highway crews and this week's ANR has all the coverage.
Two motor graders equipped with v-plows continue to work Monday afternoon to open up a two-mile stretch of 12 Road just west of Aurora. The process had started at 7 a.m. and by 1:30 p.m. only a one lane track had been cleared.

With two major snowstorms within a week and more than 900 miles of county roads to keep open, Hamilton County Highway Department Supt. Jeremy Brandt was on his eighth day of work without a break Monday and with no clear end in sight.
This car seen abandoned along Highway 14 Monday morning about a mile north of the Marquette turnoff was one of more than a dozen vehicles abandoned in the county over the weekend, according to County Highway Superintendent Jeremy Brandt. Their drivers had to be rescued by highway department workers and deputies after they got stuck in the snow.

Based on the forecast from the National Weather Service, Mayor Marlin Seeman has declared a “Snow Emergency” in the City of Aurora, to be in effect beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, and ending at 6 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13.
