Another solid week for area football teams, going a collective 3-1 in week six.  Aurora, Hampton and High Plains all picked up convincing wins in their respective matchups Friday.

Three of the four ANR area teams played Thursday night football and two of those scored victories in road games.  Aurora moved to 5-0 on the season with another convincing win at St. Paul, 54-13.

Aurora knocked off another unbeaten while High Plains played spoiler to Giltner's Homecoming night for a wild week four of the high school football season.  Class C1 No. 1 Aurora didn't mess around Friday night, putting away previously unbeaten Platteview early.

The Class C1 No. 1 Aurora Huskies made another statement Friday night.  Behind the efforts of Carlos Collazo, Aurora rushed past C1 No. 4 Boone Central 34-14 at home.  Collazo tallied 256 yards on 17 attempts with four rushing scores while adding a reception TD.

Area football roundup Week 1

The Friday night lights are back and the area put on one heck of a show to kick off the 2022 football season.  The ANR's area teams went a combined 3-1 on opening night with Aurora, Giltner and Hampton all getting wins to start the year 1-0.  Aurora, Class C1's No.

The Nebraska Schools Activities Association released the 2022-2023 high school football schedules on Wednesday morning.

CRC tournament update

All three area teams were in action at Saturday's start to the Crossroads Conference volleyball tournament in York.  The most success of the three area teams came from No. 4 seeded High Plains, who defeated No. 13 McCool Junction in the opening round, 25-12 and 25-8.

Friday night roundup week 8

Playoff football weather was in the air Friday night, giving a preview of what's to come during week eight of the high school football season.  All four area teams were on the road Friday with Aurora picking up the lone win.

The High Plains scoreboard operator was busy Friday night as the Storm's 86 points highlighted the area's performance in week seven.  The Storm won its third game this season in second in a row over Nebraska Lutheran 86-34 Friday, using eight total touchdowns from Javier Marino and Lane Urkoski.
