The Nebraska State Fair hit a milestone Sunday, welcoming the 4 millionth guest through the gates since the annual event made its debut in Grand Island 13 years ago.

Joseph Ernst was sworn in as the newest Aurora police officer during a brief Aurora City Council meeting on Aug. 22.Ernst, who was joined in attendance by his wife, Cassidy, repeated the oath as directed by City Attorney Ross Luzum, officially becoming the 10th member of the department.
