Leaving home is never easy, but Aurora High School senior Aoi Togawa has taken on the challenges of being an exchange student.  Growing up in Japan, Togawa explained that after seeing television from the US as a child she wanted to experience American high school for herself.

Coming all the way from the Czech Republic, Aurora High School senior Betty Marikova is learning to step outside of her comfort zone and take advantage of the opportunity that comes alongside being an exchange student.

Harvest season ends a challenging, rewarding year In what has been a topsy-turvey year for local weather and inflation, farmers in Hamilton County report that with the crops now in from harvest the year has had its rewards despite the turbulent conditions of 2022.

Corn.  Corn and the color red were the first things South Korean exchange student Yoonsang Nam noticed when he traveled from Seoul to Grand Island last fall. This 16-year-old student has joined Maile Ilac-Boeder and John Boeder for the 2021-22 school year in Aurora.
Pam Emahizer will welcome retirement after 36 years in education. She is set to be replaced after this school year by one of her former fourth grade students, Ashley (Pachta) Gustafson.
