Two Olsen homers power Huskies to key victory
Aurora rallies on the road to defeat Columbus Lakeview
A huge win with postseason implications was one of Aurora’s highlights last week.
The Lady Huskies went into a tough road environment Thursday, picking up a 13-8 win over Columbus Lakeview thanks to Rylee Olsen’s big bat. The Aurora senior blasted two home runs against Lakeview, totaling four RBIs and a huge wave of momentum.
Aurora coach Ashton Voss explained that Olsen’s performance Thursday was similar to how she’s played throughout the season and her presence at the plate is difficult for opposing pitchers.
“Lakeview was forced to throw a few pitches in the zone to Rylee,” Voss said. “Rylee is someone that if I had to play against her, I would be scared of her bat. It’s been hot all season and she’s hitting over .500. She’s done a great job all season.”
Aurora took the lead from the start with RBI singles from Eva Fahrnbruch and Taryn McKinney, up 3-0 after the first.
