The Lady Huskies had a tall task on their hands Dec. 20, literally and figuratively, taking on a salty Norris team which used its height to full advantage in a 52-11 win on Aurora’s home court.
The final game before the holiday break was moved up two days due to inclement weather, which coach Kelly Krueger said cut short any momentum her team may have been carrying over from an emotional win three days prior against Grand Island Northwest.
“We were thinking we’d have a couple extra days of prep time, you know, a little bit longer to kind of ride that high and get us a little more confidence,” Krueger said after the game. “With the change we only had one day to prep. Norris had the same problem, but we knew they would have a strong team, with lots of threats from the inside and the outside. It was a tough task.”
