Mother Nature threw everything it could at those competing at the Broken Bow Invite Friday.
The temperatures dipped around 40 and below, the wind howled at upwards of 30 mph and the rain came off and on throughout the event.
Despite all of that, Aurora’s track team sported several first place efforts and marks.
Aurora coach Gordon Wilson is hopeful that one day in the not-so-distant future, the Huskies get a good-weather day. Until then, though, he was pleased with how the team competed Friday.
“It was a great meet for us to go to,” Wilson said. “The weather part was unfortunate, but when you take that into account, I was really happy with how we competed. They weren’t ideal conditions, but the kids did a nice job in tough conditions.”
