Aurora’s girls wrestling team finished out its schedule before the holiday break with a merry good time.
The Lady Huskies won three of the five contested matchup and held a slight edge in the team dual, defeating GINW 37-36 at home Dec. 20.
Aurora coach Derek Keasling noted that while the Huskies and Vikings have large lineups, it was difficult to create many matchups because of weight differences. However, he was pleased with how his team performed.
“It’s a shame because both teams are fairly large, we just don’t match up well weight-wise,” Keasling noted. “We had to find opportunities to have the right girls in the right matches.”
