Aurora went into its final contest before the holiday break at Norris with nothing to lose and everything to gain. It was the exact opposite for Class B No. 2 Norris.
The Lady Huskies played like it, too.
Aurora gave Norris some fits for a half, but the Titans were just too much in a 52-31 win Dec. 21.
Aurora coach Kelly Boshart explained after the game that even though it was a loss, it was some of the best basketball at times from the Lady Huskies. “Our girls looked comfortable tonight,” Boshart mentioned. “We challenged them at the beginning, saying we have nothing to lose and they have everything to lose. Let’s just play basketball and we were ready to have some fun.”
Aurora went bucket for bucket with the highly touted Titans early as an Ellie Hutsell three-pointer gave the Lady Huskies a 5-4 lead.
Norris challenged Aurora with a full-court press, something the Lady Huskies have struggled with at times early in the year.
