Aurora began the week with a renewed sense of urgency and determination. It showed on the floor.
The Huskies extended its win streak to five with a dominant 57-21 victory over Hastings Jan. 11 as well as a come-from-behind 57-50 win at Elkhorn North Saturday.
Aurora coach Kevin Asher noted a visual difference at practice Monday following the St. Paul game ahead the Tuesday road game at Hastings.
“We have nine guys that are playing confident,” Asher said. “That started in practice. Monday (before Hastings) was the best practice we ever had. That stems from a poor second half against St. Paul. They’re starting to understand this is an every day thing.”
With two wins last week, Aurora made a lot of shots at a high percentage. The Huskies shot 52 percent from the field against Hastings while going 11 of 21 from three-point range, just over 52 percent.
