Elks Country Club in Columbus provided a challenge for Friday’s Central Conference meet.
The rough was a challenge and putting was at a premium as Aurora ended the day with two medalists and a third place team effort.
York won the conference crown with a 327 while GINW took the runner-up spot with 344, just ahead of Aurora in third with 351.
Aurora coach Craig Badura had mixed feelings after the tournament as the Huskies shot a bit higher than their season average Friday.
“I thought we could score a bit better,” Badura said. “We’ve averaged about 344 as a team this year but we got a bit spooked around the greens. The conditions weren’t the greatest but we have to grind through that.”
Ethan Shaw continued his strong effort through the season, finishing fourth overall with an 18-hole score of 80.
Not far behind was fellow senior Caden Svoboda, shooting an 85 to finish eighth.
