Friday night roundup week 4

Body

Some are calling it Hampton's biggest win in two decades. Regardless, the Hawks are rolling.

Hampton outlasted No. 4 Pawnee City 27-24 at home Friday night, highlighting the area on the gridiron.

Landen Rojewski found the end zone three times for Hampton, once on a kick return in the first half before catching two Wyatt Dose throws in the second to help solidify the victory. Needing one play to secure the win with a minute left, Dose threw again to Rojewski for a first down before entering victory formation.

The Hawks are now 3-0 on the season and have another off week before October begins. It's the first loss for Pawnee City this season and its first regular season loss since 2022.

Aurora found the winning formula Friday night, rushing for six touchdowns in a 41-21 defeat of Scotus. The Huskies added Jayden Smith to the backfield for some size as the bruiser found paydirt three times for the Huskies.

High Plains also found its second win of the season Friday, picking up a 69-6 win over Nebraska Lutheran.

It was Homecoming night for Giltner, but the Hornets fell to Deshler 80-0 during the afternoon rain.

Listed are all area teams and the scores of those games with the winning team in bold:

Hampton vs Pawnee City, 27-24
