Aurora senior found right academic, athletic fit at WSC

Emily Erickson signed with Wayne State for track and field alongside her parents, Kirk and Valerie Erickson and Aurora coaches AJ Farrand, Mike Crosby and Gordon Wilson.
Emily Erickson never really considered participating in sports at the college level was a possibility for her and she was okay with that.
That was until the perfect opportunity presented itself. Now, she’s a Wildcat.
Erickson signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and track and field career at Wayne State college March 16, surrounded by friends and family.
As she explained, getting to last week’s signing day for her was special and a day she personally thought would never happen.
“I kind of surprised myself, to be honest,” Erickson said with a laugh. “I didn’t really see myself going into sports but track has always been something that’s fun and a stress reliever. Finding that at Wayne was special.”
