Aurora Cooperative Juniors honed in for final stretch run
An early lead turned sour for the Aurora Cooperative Post 42 Juniors squad.
St. Paul scored nine unanswered runs to rally and defeat Aurora 11-3 Sunday from Mitchell Field.
Despite that, though, it was Aurora that held the early lead thanks to a couple runs in the first inning.
Aurora had two walks and a hit batter to begin the inning, loading the bases before Garrett Bellis took one on the elbow, walking in the game’s first run.
Booker Scheierman showed patience at the plate, drawing a walk to make it a 2-0 game. But, the inning would end with the bases loaded.
St. Paul tied the game in the top of the second before Aurora regained the lead in the bottom half with a Dylan Dubas RBI double on a liner to center.
