Sure, the weather was picture perfect for awhile and lightning-plagued for others.
It wasn’t the best rounds of golf the Lady Husky golf team has turned in during the 2021 season.
Yet, with raindrops falling once more and a second lightning delay of the day, Aurora’s girls golf team was having fun.
The Lady Huskies made the long trek west to Scottsbluff Country Club for the Class B state golf tournament played under a variety of weather conditions, something coaches like Rick Bell come to expect in early October.
While the weather conditions Oct. 12 were a bit odd and frustrating, it wasn’t the craziest conditions he’s seen on the course.
“I’ve coached through a lot worse weather than this at state golf,” Bell admitted. “To go from as beautiful as it was yesterday to all the lightning today, it’s October in Nebraska. That’s what happens at state golf.”
