Dr. Steven Rothenberger

Steven Rothenberger, 77, of Kearney, passed away on July 4, 2025, at Bethany Home in Minden. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on July 25, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church in Kearney, with Pastor Sharon Rees officiating. A private family interment will take place at the Kearney Cemetery.

Sharon Kay Zierott, age 65, of Marquette, died on July 1, 2025 in Nashville, TN. She was born on June 1, 1960 to Roger and Virginia (Medow) Kaiser in Aurora. She attended Hampton Lutheran School, Bradshaw Public School, and graduated from Concordia High School in Concordia, MO.

Beverly Jean Petersen, 72, passed away at Westfield Quality care in Aurora on July 5, 2025. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 9 at the chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.   Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.

Henry O. Obermeier (Hank) passed away Jan. 7, 2025 at Linden Court. Hank was born in Giltner on Dec. 29, 1935, at home to Henry A. and Ida (Sundermeier) Obermeier.Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Phillips Cemetery near Phillips.

Tiffanie Jones, age 44, of Aurora, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 23, 2025 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m.. Tuesday, July 1 at the Presbyterian U.C.C. Pastor Penny Schulz will officiate.

Elvera Willcock, age 90, of Stockham, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, at Westfield Quality Care in Aurora.Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26 at Westside Covenant Church in Aurora. Rev. Karl Larson will officiate. Interment will be at the Stockham Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

Beth Niles, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025 at Grand Island Regional Medical Center in Grand Island.Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 25, from 5-7 p.m. at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Services to be held Thursday, June 26 at 10 a.m.

John Helms

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John R. Helms (age 75). John passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on June 21, 2025 from cancer.No visitation or funeral service will be held per John’s wishes.

Tammy Kay Case, the daughter of Don and Cleonne (Jones) Lightwine, was born in Missouri Valley, Iowa, on January 14, 1962, and passed away in Fremont, on June 6, 2025, at the age of 63 after a courageous 6-year battle with breast cancer.
