Phyllis Peters, age 88, of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.

Phyllis Jean Peters was born on Feb. 20, 1932 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Dietrich J. and Sarah (Thiessen) Neufeld, and passed away in Hampton, on Jan. 5, 2021, at the age of 88.
Phyllis grew up in Buhler, Kansas and graduated from Buhler High School Class of 1950.  She was baptized in the Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church.  She served two years in I W service in Topeka, Kansas, where she met Kermit Peters.
Phyllis married Kermit Peters on Sept. 4, 1953 at Buhler, Kansas.  They farmed near Hampton for 62 years.  Phyllis worked at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora for 40 years as a dietary aide.  Kermit passed away on April 23, 2017.
Phyllis enjoyed baking for her family and gardening and canning her bounty to share with others.  She was an immaculate seamstress.  Phyllis was a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kermit; two brothers, Lester and Clifford Neufeld; infant sister, Sarah Neufeld, sisters-in-law Betty Regier and Cora Kay Friesen and brothers-in-law, Darrell Epp and Fred Regier.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Michael (Katheryn) Peters of Boulder City, Nevada, Charlotte (Michael) Cudmore of Loveland, Colorado and Barbara (Randy) Ratashak of Johnstown, Colorado; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn (Virgil) Kroeker of Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters-in-law, Ardith Epp and Caroline (Elroy) Bergen, all of Henderson and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
