Jerry Glassburner

Jerry Lee Glassburner, 87, of Aurora, passed away on July 25, 2026.
Jerry will be cremated, and his family will have a private service at a later date. Memorials may be made in care of the family for future designation. Condolences may be sent to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com. 
Jerry was born on March 7, 1939, in Dow City Iowa to Frank and Elsie Glassburner. Jerry lived a colorful life that took him to many fishing ponds and lakes across the heartland and left an impression on everyone he knew.
Jerry married Ruth Kohel (divorced in 1989), together they raised three wonderful children. James Glassburner (Rose) of York, Catherine Perryman (Craig Juedes) of Omro, Wisconsin, Theresa Naber (deceased) York in 1974.
The family moved from Milford to Stromsburg where Jerry owned and operated his own Auto Body Shop for many years. Later in life Jerry moved to Aurora and started working for New Holland of Grand Island. He would later retired from New Holland and lived his semi retirement there where he would work part-time doing odd maintenance jobs. He lived in Aurora with his life companion Cheri Ott. 
Jerry had a love of fishing and most of his family vacations revolved around that hobby. That led the kids to have the knowledge of fishing and enjoying outdoors. Jerry loved his core group of friends that he would have coffee with and discuss the world in detail.
Jerry is survived by his life companion Cheri Ott, his ex-wife Ruth Glassburner, son James Glassburner (Rose), daughter Catherine Perryman (Craig Juedes) of Omro, WI, grandchildren Josh, Jared and Brandon Glassburner, Madeline (Tyler) Westenberger, Thomas and Emily Perryman, Hailey Schultz (Cody), Nicole Teten (Matt), Daniele Reynolds, Shelby Stevens (Jake), He also had 10 great-grandchildren. 
Jerry will be missed by his family and friends.
