James Coleman

James “Jim” Marshall Coleman, 59, of Grand Island, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, at Grand Island Regional Medical Center. Jim had been battling cancer since March of 2023.
Per Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.  Arrangements were handled by Higby-McQuiston Mortuary of Aurora, Nebraska.   Condolences may be emailed to the family at www.higbymortuary.com.
Jim was born in Detroit, Mich., on Oct. 15, 1966, to William Coleman and Patricia Coleman. He was raised for most of his life in Aurora, Neb. 
Survivors include: his wife, Mary L. Place; his mother, Patricia Coleman; his sisters, Mary (Gerry) Cooney and June Coleman (Randy Staap).   In addition, he is survived by seven nieces and nephews: Nolan, Erin, Emma, Ian, Evan, Drew, and Katey, and aunts, uncles and cousins. 
Jim was preceded in death by his father, William Coleman and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
