Esther Blattner, age 72, of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at her home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11 at the Aurora United Methodist, located at 1104 A Street in Aurora. Inurnment will be at the Aurora Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.  Current CDC guidelines will be followed.  Face masks are required.  Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later time.  Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Esther Mae Blattner, the daughter of Herbert and Anna (Kornelson) Jantzen, was born in Aurora, on July 15, 1948 and passed away in Aurora, on November 5, 2020, at the age of 72.
Esther grew up in Aurora. She graduated from Aurora High School.
In 1964, Esther was united in marriage to Larry Dean Blattner from Aurora. They lived most of their lives in Aurora with short amount of times spent in Sidney, Grand Island and Hastings. Four children were born to them: Jefferey, Jeanie, Joseph and Jay.  Larry passed away on May 29, 2008.
She enjoyed family vacations and get togethers and especially loved to spoil her grandkids when she could.  She also enjoyed card parties with her friends and cooking up a feast for those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry, sister, Rosie Miller and brother-in-law, Vern Miller.
Those left to miss her and cherish her memory are her four children, Jeff Blattner, Jeanie and Chris Horeis of Grand Island, Joey and Brenda Blattner of Aurora and Jay Blattner and fiancé Brittani Moeller of Kearney; 13 grandchildren, Kiefer Harris, Taylor Harris and Kalsie Cheek, Jake Horeis and Samantha Went, Katie and Mikey Herrera, Jase and Jarren Blattner, Krystal and Linda Johnson, Gabe Bender and Michael Wright and many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.
