Body

Alan Heuermann, of Ericson, a few short days after celebrating his 60th birthday surrounded by family, went home to be with the Lord on February 22, 2024 in Kearney.
Alan Lee was born on February 19, 1964. A Phillips native, he received his pilot’s license at age 16 and graduated from Aurora High School in 1982. He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he studied agriculture, was a member of the Ag Men Fraternity, and met his future wife, Jody Knapp. Together, they ran an agricultural operation and were blessed with two wonderful children, Curtis Alan and Whitney Ann.
He will be remembered for his charitable contributions, storytelling, and sense of adventure. Alan loved all things maritime and pursued his captain’s license for large vessels. He was an avid follower of current affairs and appreciated a good discussion on all manner of topics. Flying through a clear blue sky or boating on the water, Alan loved spending time in the great outdoors. In his final years, Alan sincerely enjoyed getting involved in the Ericson community through the 4th of July celebration and Lake Association. Proclaiming his faith in Jesus Christ, his family rejoices that he is now at peace with his Savior.
He is survived by his parents, Keith and Norma Heuermann of Phillips; wife of 24 years, Jody Heuermann of Central City; son, Curtis (Joanna) Heuermann of Central City; daughter, Whitney Heuermann of Central City; grandchildren, Jessie and Cassie Heuermann of Central City; brother, Scott (Lynn) Heuerman of Roca; sisters, Cindy Meek of Edna, Kansas and Linda (Stan) Bell of Dyersburg, Tennessee; and numerous other nieces, nephews and family.
A Celebration of Life was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024; at the Evangelical Free Church in Ord. Private Family Burial was held in the Ord City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Christian Schools Foundation.
