Edward "Ed" Beins

Edward “Ed” George Beins, age 69 of Lincoln, died on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Seward. He was born on October 20, 1956 in York to Russell Rae and Mildred (Lofink) Beins on June 3, 1978, Ed was united in marriage to Sheila Richardson in York and two sons were born to this union. Later, Ed was united in marriage to Rita Barrett on September 20, 2008 in Lincoln.
Ed was a truck driver and enjoyed participating in the Nebraska Truck Rodeo, showcasing the skills of professional drivers through obstacle courses, written tests, and pre-trip inspections, highlighting safety and precision. He was a member of the Tamora Volunteer Fire Department and Lincoln Elks Lodge #80. In his free time, Ed enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling, and he never missed the chance to attend a good auction.
He is survived by his sons Jon (Jenny) Beins of Raymond,  and Mike (Jamie) Beins of Lincoln; grandchildren: Trevyn and Zaedyn Beins of Raymond and Noah Beins of Lincoln; step-daughter Sara Callies of Gretna; two sisters Fran Brauer of rural Seward and Sue (LaVerne) Hansel of St. Paul; sister-in-law Sheri Beins of York, and brother-in-law Tom Lonowski of Florida, nephews, nieces and a host of friends. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rita, brother Jim, grandson Jaxson, sister Margie Lonowski, and brother-in-law Robert Brauer.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2026 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. that afternoon at Aurora Cemetery in Aurora. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Sunday afternoon. His family will greet friends from 2-4 p.m. at the mortuary that same afternoon in York.
