Raymond L Andersen, age 84, formally of Marquette, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney. 
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday Jan, 26 at the St John’s Church in Kronborg. Rev Ricardo Riqueza will officiate.   Inurnment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Higby-McQuistion Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. 
Raymond Laverne Andersen, the son of Rueban and Annie (Rasmussen) Andersen, was born at home in Marquette on Sept. 13, 1941, and passed away on Jan. 20, 2026, at the age of 84.   He was the youngest of four boys.
Raymond only went to school through the 8th grade at Marquette Public School. He went to work for Hamilton County after the 8th grade to help out the family.
In 1961, Raymond enlisted into the Army, and did his basic training at Fort Calhoun in Colorado.   He was then sent to South Korea and was trained to be a mechanic.   He spent 2 years in the army, all in South Korea.  
Raymond married Karen Hongsermeier on Dec 19, 1963.   They had two children: Curt and Dara.   Raymond worked for NPPD, New Holland, and retired from Aurora Coop after 35 years of service.   He spent his years of retirement working harvest with area farmers and he had a love for working on different types of motors and making things run. 
Raymond also served on the Marquette Volunteer Fire Dept for 25 years.   
Raymond was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg.   He served as a mower, on church council, property committee, and cemetery board over the years.   Raymond loved to attend his grandkids and great-grandkids activities as he was able.   He also followed the Husker football and volleyball teams.  
Those left to cherish his memory are his two children, Curt (Jane) Andersen of Kearney, Dara (Kevin) Quiring of York;   brother-in-law Gary Hongsermeier of Kearney; 11 grandchildren, Cody (Brittany) Andersen, Jason (Alicia) Butterfield, Trey (Morgan) Andersen, Kyle (Rachel) Andersen, Angelina Hoselton, Carly Hoselton, Sierra Hoselton, Kevin Quiring Jr., Chelsi Parker, Destanie Quiring, and Katlin Quiring and 9 great-grandkids.   
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert (Jean), Ronald (Janet) and Robert Andersen; brothers-in-laws, Leo (Inge), Jim, and sister-in-law Mary Hongsermeier; son-in law, Lonne Hoselton; grandson Nino Hoselton.
