Carol Ann Arent, the daughter of Clarence and Bernice (Schommer) Reinsch, was born in Geneva on May 2, 1945 and passed away on Jan. 18, 2026 at the age of 80.
Carol grew up in Geneva working on the family farm, attending Catholic school and graduating from Geneva high school, she met her future husband Carl in Geneva. They were married on June 27, 1964, and according to Carol that is the day she saved Carl’s soul. They had four children: Raymond, Craig, Troy and Dawn. Carol worked for many years for NPPD and finished her career as the city clerk for the city of Aurora.
Carol was strong in her faith, providing a good example to all. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altar Society, and bowled on city leagues for many years. She enjoyed bowling and attended the state bowling tournaments for over 25 years. She loved Elvis, casinos, and shopping; but above all she loved her children and grandchildren, attending many of their school events.
Carol was a great cook, exceptional canner, and a gracious host; she made all feel welcome and loved. It is this love that will sustain us and, in time, bring us back to her with our father in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, her parents; her brothers-in-law John Hoarty, Larry Lukes, Jerry Lukes: and daughter-in-law, Patricia Arent.
Those left to cherish her memory are; children, Raymond (Jill), Craig (Cristy), Troy (Kim); and Dawn (Rick); 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Kay Lukes, Deloris Lukes, Gary Reinsch, Ken Reinsch, Renae Hoarty, Rhonda Reinsch, and Tony Reinsch; and many other family members and friends.
