Ann Yvonne (Nelson) Wilson, 89, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Pleasant View Bible Church, Aurora. Family burial will be prior to the memorial service. Pastor Bob Gannon will officiate. Visitation will be Friday evening at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary from 5 to 7pm. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. Ann was born August 24, 1936 in Kenmare, North Dakota. She was the daughter of John and Elsie (Anderson) Nelson. 
She attended country school, graduated from Donnybrook High School and Minot State Teachers College. She taught elementary school with the Peace Corps in Germany, then was a teacher and school librarian in Owatonna, Minnesota. It was there she became friends with Marilyn (Wilson) Voss, Don’s sister. Marilyn introduced them and they married in 1963. 
They lived their married life on a farm in rural Giltner. They were married 58 years. Their family consisted of Daniel, Lisa, and Andrew. 
Ann was the secretary for the farm. She was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Over the years, Ann taught children’s Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and she was a church librarian for many years. She was a member of the Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild, taught 4-H, and participated in many community organizations. 
She was a wonderful gardener and cook for her family. She encouraged many through her letter writing. Ann was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, friend and grandmother. She delighted in following her grandchildren and their activities. Family was very important to Ann. 
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Don and her parents. 
Those left to cherish her memory are their children Daniel and Julie Wilson of Giltner, Lisa and Brian Ertel of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Andrew and RaeLynn Wilson of Giltner. Grandchildren are Claire (Barrett) Smith, Grant (Laura) Wilson, Kendal Wilson, Megan Wilson, Zachary Ertel, Callie (Dylan) DuMoulin, Sophie Ertel, Nicholas Ertel, Kyla (Patrick) Harbuck, Brooke (Owen) Veer, and many nieces and nephews.
