Gordon Bunner, 87, of Aurora, passed away January 11, 2024 at the Grand Island VA Medical Center in Grand Island.
Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island is entrusted with the arrangements
Gordon’s wishes were to be cremated. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
Gordon was born March 22, 1936 to Edgar and Edna (Molesworth) Bunner in Sargent.
He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1959.
Gordon was united in marriage to Rita Lou Bray on September 3, 1961. To this union four children were born. They raised their children in Brule and moved to Aurora in 2010. He worked at the Gerald Gentleman Power Plant in Sutherland for years and then worked at the Brule Public School as a maintenance personnel.
Gordon loved working in his garden and yard. He also enjoyed raising horses.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Rita; his children, Peggy Mankin (Mike Senff) of Hampton, Gerald (Montika) Bunner of Springfield, OR, and Glenda Bunner of Marquette; grandchildren, Ryan Shaw, Curtis Hill, Damian Bunner, Damitrye Bunner, Alxndr Bunner, Travis Stumpf, and Shalee Stumpf; great grandchildren, Lane Shaw, Shyann Shaw, Wyatt Shaw, Dax Spanel, Hux Spanel, McKenzie Hill, Jaden Hill, and Ember Bunner; a great-great-grandchild, Easton Shaw; and one sister, Dollie (Bunner) Dilsaver.
Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Rhonda (Bunner) Horn, brothers Clayton Bunner and Randall Bunner.
