The Huskies have been consistent since its last state tournament appearance in 2019. The issue is, that consistency comes with a red mark.
Aurora came up short in its fourth district final in as many years, losing to Sidney in the C1-6 final 34-31 Feb. 28 played at Cozad.
Aurora coach Kevin Asher commented after the game that if the Huskies were given 10 points, they would have been statebound each of the last three seasons. That’s how close they’ve been to Lincoln.
“I have to give credit to both teams. I thought tonight was tremendously well played,” Asher said. “This was a hard-fought game. We just couldn’t get a good look there and I knew once they got a lead, it would be tough to overcome that.”
