It was an up and down morning session for Aurora at the NSAA state wrestling championships from the CHI Health Center.

The duo of Kellen Peterson and Natalie Bisbee each won their respective matchups in the second round of consolations to stay alive into Friday night.

Karsten Hohm won his opening matchup Thursday, but lost his next two before being eliminated. Hohm finished his sophomore season with a 31-15 record.

Unfortunately for Aubrie Beed and Angelina Leininger, their seasons came to an end Friday. Beed finished her first season of wrestling with a 31-10 record while Leininger was 24-16 in her first year.

It was all really good news for High Plains Friday morning as all five of its wrestlers are still alive. Hudson Urkoski won two matches while Levi Russell, Gage Friesen and Lance Russell each won one. All five, along with Wyatt Urkoski, will compete Friday night.
