For the third time in a row dating back to a season ago, a rivalry game between Giltner and Hampton came down to the final second.
For a third time in a row it was the same result -- a Giltner victory. How we got there Friday night, though, wasn’t the same.
The Hornets, in front of a jam-packed home crowd, held off a feisty Hampton bunch in the fourth quarter and final moments to pick up a 47-45 win.
Giltner coach Dane McConnell, taking a swig of his orange Gatorade following another four-quarter battle, mentioned how awesome the environment was Friday night.
“This was a real fun game tonight,” McConnell said. “I want to thank all the fans. We had a lot of young kids here tonight and this place was electric. The Hampton fans brought it, too. It was awesome.”
