Aurora Airport Authority updates on projects
Moving taxiway, fixing hanger doors main concern
Aurora Airport Authority chairman Dr. John Wilcox, airport manager Terry Ott and treasurer Brett Mitchell made an appearance at the Aurora City Council meeting July 26 to update the council on upcoming projects and to request a continuation of the levy rate.
The two main projects include an update to the taxiways to align with the new runaway built three years ago, and to fix hanger doors that were damaged by the tornado last year.
“We’ve always talked about getting everything up to standards, which I am thrilled that you’ve been saving for the taxiway,” said Mayor Marlin Seeman. “So obviously you’re able to put in what you’re going to be requesting here in a few minutes as far as the funding goes. You’ll be able to do your share over the next few years of getting the 10 percent (for the taxiway).”
